Im Rahmen von AIDA Evolution, dem größten Flotten-Modernisierungsprogramm in der Geschichte des Unternehmens werden die ersten drei Schiffe der Sphinx-Baureihe bis 2026 umfangreich modernisiert. Den Anfang macht AIDAdiva, die vom 3. Februar bis 22. März 2025 in die Werft Chantier Naval im französischen Marseille gehen wird. AIDAluna wird vom 22. Oktober bis 10. Dezember 2025 ihre Werftzeit absolvieren, AIDAbella folgt vom 21. Januar bis 11. März 2026. Nun sind auch die ersten Reisen von AIDAbella und AIDAluna nach ihrer Werftzeit buchbar. Mit dem Anlauf von AIDAdiva am 25. Juli 2024 in Stockholm geht die Landstromanlage im Port of Stockholm als erste ihrer Art in Schweden in den offiziellen Regelbetrieb. Damit können erstmals auch Kreuzfahrtschiffe in Schweden während ihres Aufenthalts im Hafen mit Landstrom versorgt werden. Zwei Jahre dauerten Entwicklung und Bau der Anlage, die AIDA Cruises als Projektpartner mit vorangetrieben hat. „AIDA Cruises ist die erste Kreuzfahrtreederei, die mit der Nutzung von Landstrom in Europa begonnen hat.
